Accessibility statement
We want Kvell to be easy for everyone to use, including people with disabilities. The app aims to meet WCAG 2.0 level AA, Israeli Standard 5568 and the Israeli Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 2013.
What we did
- The whole app works with a keyboard, and the focused element is clearly outlined.
- Buttons, fields and images have text descriptions for screen readers, and each page declares its language and writing direction.
- Text has sufficient contrast with its background, and there is a dark mode.
- Text can be enlarged to 200% without losing content, and pages adapt to phone screens.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, animations are turned off.
- Cooking mode can read steps and ingredients aloud, and timers are also shown as text.
- Progress and error messages are announced to screen readers.
Known limitations
- Photos and videos in recipes come from the source you imported, and do not always have descriptions. The recipe itself (ingredients and steps) is always full text.
- Paddle's checkout and Google's sign-in page belong to outside providers, who are responsible for their accessibility.
- If something doesn't work for you, we are happy to help another way, for example by importing a recipe for you or handling a request by email.
